Zoe Hughes
Director
Zoe’s commitment to supporting children with additional needs began early. At just 14, she volunteered once a week after school at Springfield House School, helping young children with SEMH needs during their after school activities. What started as a small routine quickly grew into a lifelong passion.
Throughout her teenage years, Zoe worked before and after school, on weekends, and during holidays with a local family caring for four year old twins with Cerebral Palsy. These early experiences shaped her understanding of disability, inclusion, and the power of patient, compassionate support.
After leaving school, Zoe attended Solihull College, gaining her NNEB qualification. She worked as a Nanny and later on the maternity ward of a local hospital, a role she loved but she knew her true calling was in disability and education. She returned to specialist settings, building a wealth of experience at Springfield House, Reynalds Cross, and Welcombe Hills, supporting children with complex needs across education and care.
In 2006, Zoe welcomed twins, a boy and a girl into her life. In 2010, her son was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD, later presenting with challenging behaviour and being non verbal. His needs were complex, and Zoe found herself navigating a new world of support systems, advocacy, and daily adjustments. She learned how to balance the demands of caring for a child with significant needs while still meeting the needs of her daughter and the rest of her family. This lived experience deepened her empathy, strengthened her resilience, and enriched the understanding she brings to her work every day.
In 2018, Zoe joined Entrust Care Partnership as the Service Manager, bringing her wealth of hands on experience and heartfelt commitment to families. Her leadership and vision helped shape new approaches to support, culminating in her role as the lead for The Wren, Entrust’s new therapeutic provision launched in September 2025. Under her guidance, The Wren has enjoyed a successful first year, offering a nurturing, specialist environment where children can grow, connect, and thrive.
Zoe’s journey is one of dedication, compassion, and unwavering commitment shaped by both her professional path and her personal life. She brings not only expertise, but a genuine understanding of what families face, and a heartfelt belief in helping every child flourish and be treated with compassion and kindness.
