Toddler Group
This friendly group welcomes parents & carers of children under five providing a safe, secure, and happy environment for all children with parents being actively involved. There are plenty of toys which help to develop children’s skills and the opportunity to engage with other families.
Toddlers-after We’ve been involved with running the Toddler Group for quite a while now and we like to keep abreast of things to see how we’re doing – so like last year we asked one of our volunteers to examine our attendance sheets and collate some facts us. Once again we’re delighted with the results View Them Here.

Funded through WPH Charitable Trust we’ve already enjoyed walks throughout 2016 at Ryton Pools and Stratford-upon-Avon, and now we’re looking to get more arranged for 2017 in these delightful locations.
So dust off the walking boots and keep an ear out for news of next year’s dates!

FREE Red Cross Training – Would you know what to do in a Crisis?
Thanks for joining us to learn some basic and easy to master skills with the British Red Cross recently. We hope to run more of these in the future, get in touch to let us know you’re interested in joining us.
These special sessions are FREE and OPEN TO ALL parents of children with disabilities, additional or special needs.

Disability Awareness Training
Working with Family Voice Warwickshire, a countywide Parent and Carer Forum across the county and WCVYS, we are helping to further develop Disability Awareness Training which offers professionals the opportunity to hear first hand a parental perspective.
We are happy to discuss your particular needs and can offer a consultancy approach to meeting training, skill, or knowledge needs.

Meeting the Respiratory Needs of your Child
Following on from our recent ‘Sensory Needs’ sessions that we delivered with the help of Family Voice Warwickshire, we hosted a session for those caring for a child with additional or specific needs or disabilities, to learn more about Respiratory Needs. Each session was relaxed and informative with time for participant’s questions.
Parents and carers came along to meet Rachel Evans, Specialist Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapist to develop an understanding of chest infections and learn more about the treatments available. With practical strategies to maintain improved chest health and the opportunity to discuss your child’s individual issue. We hope your day made a difference.
We’d like to hold more of these sessions in the future, watch this space for more details.

Who Cares – We Care
We know that Carers can suffer from poor health and back pain, find it difficult to maintain healthy diet and exercise, experience the pressures of juggling family life, be emotionally drained, stressed or sleep badly, feel emotions of guilt, resentment, anger, lifelessness and depression. Not everyone ticks all these boxes but a part of it seems to strike a chord with some of the families we talk to.
We are always keen to support families in any way we can and for this service we wanted you to be the ‘centre of attention’ for a change – our Who Cares We Care programme of seven sessions did just that for a group of parents and carers and we were so delighted to get extra funding from Awards for All to run more! These inspiring Parent and Carer Workshops not only celebrated the joys of caring for a child, young person or adult but also considered the emotional and practical stresses and what strategies could be helpful. We all learned from each other as well as experienced practitioners.

Time for Hope Counselling Service
This is a much needed Counselling Service from Nilam Gill for Parent/Carer’s who have children with a disability. It allows parent/carers to explore the pressures and difficulties they may be experiencing at their own pace through encouragement and assistance in finding the right solutions.

We’re eagerly awaiting news from Nilam on future dates so watch this space for updates.

Play & Stay
These time limited sessions bring together parents and carers whose child has recently received a diagnosis or identification of a disability or additional need. They offer the opportunity to share information, advice and friendship of others who are in a similar position, while the children play.
We’ve held quite a few of these sessions now across the County especially after securing grant funding from Midcounties Co-operative – a BIG THANK YOU to them. Keep checking this page for details on forthcoming sessions.

Coffee and Chat Drop In Service
Calling All Parents, Carers and Supporters!
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting our informal drop in sessions last year, it was lovely to see so many of you and to catch up on your news and we’re delighted to be bringing you more of these informal sessions during 2017.
Our experienced parents/carers will be on hand to answer any questions you have about what local and national support is available, where to turn to next after a recent diagnosis and much more.
It’s the perfect opportunity to speak to someone who has ‘been there’ themselves, understands the system and can advise & guide to hopefully make things smoother for the future.
